Avner Levy is a talented musician, singer, guitar player, songwriter, composer, arranger, producer and bandleader. Avner`s musical talents include playing instruments such as acoustic, bass, rhythm and lead guitars, keyboards, drums, harmonica and percussion. Avner was born and raised in Israel in a Jewish Yemenite family, in Acco, a small town near Haifa. He developed his love for music and singing at an early age while accompanying his father, the cantor in their synagogue. At the age of twelve, Avner built his own guitar and taught himself to play by ear. By the age of fifteen, Avner was performing professionally on stage with his own ensemble, and for the next three years he played with the finest bands in the Haifa vicinity. When Avner turned eighteen, he began his mandatory; three year, Israeli military service in the air force. After completing his service, Avner moved to Tel Aviv. There, he was introduced to and performed with the most popular Israeli bands and singers of the day. The success in Tel Aviv was not enough for this talented and ambitious musician. Striving to seek new heights in the music world, he moved to New York. Avner performed in cafes and nightclubs and was a member of the famous Noga and Feenjon groups. In addition to the clubs, he performed with many leading Jewish orchestras, some of which included The Messengers, Neshoma, Neginah and Nafshenu, as well as top of the line Jewish singers, such as Avraham Fried, Mordechai Ben David, and Dedi. Avner is no stranger to singing and playing American music and Rock`n`roll. He has also performed with American orchestras such as Starlight, Steven Scott, Hank Lane and Ken Gross. During this time, he has hosted his own radio show, which has featured Jewish music, on WLIR in Monsey, New York. To date, Avner has released four top selling albums reflecting his Israeli and Yemenite roots. His music can be heard regularly on Jewish radio around the world. Recently, he has established his own production and entertainment company named “Avner Levy Music Productions” in Long Island, NY. Avner is currently working on his fifth album for the Jewish/Israeli market and is looking forward to releasing his all original music album of American Rock.
